Q. Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi said that the Catholic Church is not sure when human life begins. Is that true?
A. No. Human life begins at conception and abortion is always the killing of a human life. It is ludicrous to think that the conceptus will turn into a giraffe or a tomato. Not at all. Everyone knows it will grow into a human baby. It has its own DNA, separate from the mother’s DNA and its heart is beating by the time the mother knows she is pregnant. Any responsible person would err on the side of caution, if they were truly unsure exactly “when life begins”. Should a hunter go ahead and shoot if he thinks there is a chance that what he has in his sites is a human being?
