Q. If I sincerely believe that there is no god but it turns out that God does exist, then wouldn’t my invincible ignorance save me?
A. Such ignorance is not invincible. You can overcome it. You violated your reason in suppressing its spontaneous concept of God and by persuading yourself that religion is false. If you took the pressure off your reason and let it swing back to the Supreme Cause of its very being, it would do so, as the needle to the pole. Pascal rightly says that there are two types of men, those who are afraid to lose God, and those who are afraid that they might find Him. Radio Replies Vol. I: #7
