Scripture vs. the Catholic Church: Prohibition of Drinking Blood

“It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: 29You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from BLOOD, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things. Farewell.” Acts 15:28-29
Your are to drink Christ’s actual blood as the “source and summit of the Christian life.” (CCC 1324).

JOHN 6:53
Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.

The Catholic Church simply takes Jesus literally. Most of the Protestants do not. Once again we see an example of verses taken out of context and Protestants do not know how to reconcile these verses convincingly.

  1. You are unintelligent. The OT verse says “blood” The NT verse (i.e. new covenant) says my blood as in Christ’s blood. There is a very big difference. Plus you cut the John verse short. It goes on and on and on. Jn 6,53 is the one part of the bible where Christ repeats himself the most. Must have been important! Or maybe i’m just over playing the one gospel text that repeats like a broken record. WAKE UP!
